Gary Anthony grew up in Vero Beach, Florida — which means he didn't just learn about hurricanes in a classroom. He lived them. He watched neighbors scramble for shutters, saw homes take on water, and understood firsthand what it meant to feel vulnerable when a storm was on the radar.
Before founding UR Windows, Gary spent years in the hurricane shutter business and worked in commercial insurance — collaborating closely with contractors and learning the industry from the inside. That background gave him something most window companies don't have: a deep understanding of how the whole system works, from product sourcing to installation to insurance claims.
That experience never left him. When Gary founded UR Windows in 2023, he saw something that bothered him deeply: Tampa Bay homeowners were getting overcharged, handed off to crews they'd never met, and sold windows that didn't truly fit their homes. The industry had a trust problem — and Gary knew he could do better.
UR Windows — short for Urban Restoration — was born from that conviction. The "UR" isn't just a name — it's a promise. Your windows. Your home. Built around you, not around a contractor's schedule or a retailer's markup. Gary built the business on a simple model: help Tampa Bay homeowners find the right product, measure it right, and connect them with installation partners he trusts.
